Pioneer (initiator and first implementer) of the concept ‘Solar Rail Coach’ for Indian Railways, in collaboration with the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, to retrofit solar photovoltaic (PV) modules on a rail coach and conducted a week’s trial run of the ‘Prototype Solar Rail Coach’ with three popular trains of Indian Railways. A special rail coach was manufactured at Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai for this project.

Design and Recommendations for a Solar Rail Coach were featured in the first ‘Specification’ document of Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO), Ministry of Railways, Government of India, which were the guidelines for the manufacture and operation of Solar Rail Coaches in India.

Formulator of the first research project on the 'Performance Analysis of the First Electric Bus in Bangalore', procured by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), Govt. of Karnataka, India.
